1. Project Overview & Context

Meriwether Elementary School is located on a military base in Washington State, serving military-connected students, families, and educators. As an active PTA member and professional designer, I volunteer my design skills throughout the academic year to create engaging, high-quality visual collateral that builds school spirit, supports fundraising initiatives, and fosters a strong sense of community.

Because this is an ongoing partnership for the 2026–2027 school year, this case study documents a growing collection of design deliverables created for the students, teachers, and parent community.

2. Design Challenge & Goals

  • Building Community & School Pride: Military families experience frequent transitions; strong visual identity and celebratory school gear help build immediate connection and belonging for students.

  • Versatile Vector Design: Apparel and promotional items require clean, scalable vector graphics built to strict printer specifications (screen printing, direct-to-garment, and digital media).

  • Adaptable Living Asset: Establish a flexible visual style that can evolve across different PTA events, spirit weeks, and merchandise throughout the entire school year.

3. Project Deliverables

A. Spirit Wear & Custom Apparel Design

  • Custom T-Shirt Graphics: Designed original, custom vector artwork for student and school spirit wear.

  • Print-Ready Handoff: Prepared clean vector separation files (SVG/EPS/PDF) optimized for screen printing production to ensure sharp linework, vibrant ink colors, and cost-effective printing for the PTA budget.
