Sedimetal Designs

Branding, Illustrations and Icons

Project Overview: Sedimetal Designs

Client: Sedimetal Designs

Role: Brand Designer & Illustrator

Timeline: 2 weeks | 2025

Tech Stack: Adobe Illustrator

The Challenge

Sedimetal Designs, a small jewelry business specializing in unique metalwork, was operating with a "legacy" logo—a raster file that limited their growth. The original artwork lacked the scalability needed for modern applications, such as laser engraving on jewelry, high-quality packaging, or large-scale signage.

The Solution

I performed a meticulous vectorization of the legacy mark to ensure mathematical precision and scalability. Beyond the artwork itself, I developed a comprehensive hand-off ecosystem to empower the client to maintain brand consistency across all future touchpoints.

Technical Execution
1. Vectorization & Refinement

Using Adobe Illustrator, I rebuilt the logo from the ground up. This wasn't a simple "Image Trace"; I manually plotted anchor points to ensure clean lines and balanced curves. This allows the logo to be scaled from a tiny earring hallmark to a billboard without any loss in quality.

2. The Style Tile

To bridge the gap between a logo and a full brand identity, I created a Style Tile. This served as a visual "one-sheet" that defined:

  • Color Palette: Metallic-inspired tones and high-contrast neutrals.

  • Typography: A pairing of sophisticated serifs and clean sans-serifs to mirror the jewelry’s craftsmanship.

3. The Hand-off & File Guide

Many small businesses struggle with knowing which file type to use. To solve this, I provided a File Usage Guide and a Hand-off Guide. This documentation ensures the client never has to guess between an SVG for the web or a CMYK EPS for professional printing.

  • Print-Ready: High-resolution PDF and EPS files.

  • Digital-Ready: Optimized PNGs, JPEGs, and SVGs.

  • Organization: A logical folder structure for easy navigation.

The Result

Sedimetal Designs now possesses a professional-grade brand toolkit. By modernizing their legacy assets and providing a roadmap for their use, I’ve given the business the technical foundation to scale their marketing and production with confidence.
